(Also appears at ShaunMunro.co.uk) Director: Dwayne Carey-Hill Cast: John Di Maggio, Phil LaMarr, Katie Sagal, Lauren Tom, Billy West Release Date: November 27th, 2007 (US) Certificate: ? Futurama: Bender's Big Score is the much-hyped return of the comedy animated series Futurama, senselessly cancelled by FOX in 2003. As is characteristic for sister shows such as The Simpsons and Family Guy, pot-shots at their malevolent puppeteers are in great abundance throughout this feature-length episode, berating FOX from near enough the opening frame, and then swiftly moving to refer to them as "asanine morons". What became ... Read the complete review

I still don't know why they cancelled this show in the first place, but I read that this movie "Bender's Big Score" and the subsequent three Futurama movies will be broadcasted on TV; each one of them as four episodes. The story of this film, as is the case with all Futurama episodes, is crazy, complicated, but somehow funny. It talks about some naked creatures who find a certain code for time travel tattooed on Fry's buttocks. This happens after they steal the Professor's company and install a virus into Bender's system to make him obedient. At the beginning of the movie, Hermes' body becomes separated from his head because a sword fell on his neck, and Leela ... Read the complete review

Futurama returns to the screen in Bender's Big Score after being canceled a few years ago. The beginning of the movie explains how they 'got fired' and how they have gotten to return to clear up any confusion you might have had :) Basic Plot The crew of the Planet Express have fallen victim to identity theft by giving their email addresses to some ugly aliens on a nude beach that were handing out a 'petition' for people to sign. After this all of their emails are bombarded with spam, even Professor Farnsworth. During a meeting with the crew about NOT giving your information to scammers, he falls for a scam that clams he won the Spanish Lottery. By signing ... Read the complete review

Futurama - Bender's Big Score is Futurama's first straight to DVD movie after they got canceled. Fox treated the last season abysmally, with a highly erratic schedule, and holding episodes from the third and fourth seasons to be made into a new fifth season. Finally, midway through the production of the fourth series, Fox decided to let it go out of production. But thankfully, it came out that four new straight to DVD films would be made, and then chopped up and made into a new series. Bender's Big Score is the first of these movies. Scammers have taken over Planet Express, using phony lottery wins and viruses to obtain the crew's credit card ... Read the complete review

Futurama is back at long last, and while I'm not a hardcore fan, I like so many others was still eager for its release onto DVD. In Bender's Big Score the crew of Planet Express fall victim to a group of nudist spammers, and Professor Farnsworth (believing he's won the Spanish lottery) signs over the company. That leads to the discovery of a number on Fry's rear end which allows the spammers to send Bender (who has himself fallen victim to an obedience virus) back in time to steal the world's treasures. And that's only the beginning of the story. Add a decapitated crew member, some romance, a wedding, a hero in disguise and around another half dozen subplots and you're ...
