Advantages: Very funny

Disadvantages: None

This is an excellent DVD which has all of series 1 of the smash hit comedy Gavin and Stacey, written by Ruth Jones and James Corden who also star as Stacey and Gavins best friends, Nessa and Smithy respectively the two title roles are played by Joanna Page and Matthew Horne however it is Jones and Corden who are the real stars and have some of the ebst lines in this 30 minute per episode comedy show.

Gavina and Smithy are Essex boys while Stacey and Nessa are from Barry Island in Wales, Gavin and Stacey meet over the phone through work and the opening episode is all about the pair arranging to mee in London and then subsequent episodes chart their romance and the lust hate relatinship of Smithy and Nessa

This is a very funny funny show indeed, Rob Bydon as Stacey Uncle Brynn is hilarious as are Gavin parents as well. There is a great deal of attention to detail in this show, the two families have the surnames, West and Shipman and Gavin mum played by Alison Steadman is pure class.

For those who have enjoyed this on TV then this is a great addition to the DVD collection as each episode is great to watch and also you can dip in and out once you know the full storyline.

Summary: Great comedy
