Advantages: Nothing new
Disadvantages: Cliched script
I think this is the most 'Cliche' movie ever made. Rap superstar 50 cent(Curtis Jackson) follows in the footsteps of Eminem and his semi biography film 8 Mile. "Whilst this movie is based loosely on 50 cent's own life, the results leave you feeling a little, umm, short changed. "
50 cent is forced to deal drugs in order to survive and literally every scene in this movie is made to persuade the audience to feel sympathy for 50 or any form of empathy. The movie plays out like a greatiests hits selection of his tracks and takes in the usual gangsta rivalries, bloodshed and attempted sob story.
However what makes this film most dissapointing, is the cliched script, which reduces each character into a stereotype and 50 cent produces a very flat performance that is worthy of no credit. "Without a charismatic leading man to guide it, the film struggles to maintain a worthwhile rhythm and ends up sounding like a broken record with nothing new to say."
