Like it's predecessor, this is a veritable masterpiece from director Mamoru Oshii. Visually, there's been an upgrade since the prequel with the inclusion of combined CGI with traditional manga, which looks impeccable. A fine example of the technique. The soundrack is by Kenji Kawai, and creates the perfect envirnoment for the story and characters, not to mention the enthralling musical spikes during expositional scenes. While the narrative is difficult to follow, like the first Ghost in the Shell, it's entertaining at the least and involved at the most. This is the second ghost in the shell movie so as expected the visuals and music are amazing. The general series is about a futuristic metropolis were humans are being out populated by cyborgs (part human, part robot people) and androids (robots which have high artificial intelligence and look very similar to humans).
