The film revolves around a salvage team, including Captain Sean Murphy (Gabriel Byrne) Maureen Epps (Julianna Margulies), Greer (Isaiah Washington), Dodge (Ron Eldard), Munder (Karl Urban), and Santos (Alex Dimitriades), who, after successfully completing a salvage mission and looting the ship, are then told about an abandoned luxury ship floating in International waters, meaning that it is theirs to claim. They of course venture out with the hope of looting it for all it's worth, only to find a far more...more

Crowned Review Should have been called 'Not Many Ghosts Ship'! (1087 words)

Rating:

In 1962 a luxury Italian ocean liner disappeared with all it's crew and passengers. The liner was the Antonia Graza and the film opens with an on-deck party. The passengers are mingling with the crew, champagne is flowing and everyone is on the floor dancing to the sound of an orchestra and sexy Spanish singer. I'm feeling relaxed watching the film, nothing can happen HERE to make me jump can it? Dammit, let my guard down and suddenly a metal cable whips across the deck slicing all the party goers in half making me jump so high I nearly hit my head on the ceiling! Seriously, this is one awful scene. The noise just stops and all the passengers are looking ...  Read the complete review

I was given Ghost Ship on DVD as a present a few years ago, and recently dug it out of my DVD collection. After watching it 6 years after it was released, it doesn't seem to have aged much and still felt like a good quality film which was enjoyable to watch. Ghost ship was directed by Steve Beck, who worked on Thir13en Ghosts, and I would say his talent helped to bring this film together and give it a polished finish. It was released in early 2003 and is sold in a funky DVD case. I can't remember what it's called, but it has a reversible image effect, so it's dark blue with an image of a ship and then you tilt it to reveal a skull and the words 'sea evil'. So ...  Read the complete review
