Ghost Town Predictable (Ghost Town (DVD))
Member Name: Beth21
Advantages: Funny at Times, Different plot, Disadvantages: Predicatble, Ricky Gervais always same character As a individual who doesn't really find Ricky Gervais funny or entertaining at all I was quite surprised to find that i actually didn't hate Ghost Town. Ricky Gervais plays Bertram Pincus a dentist who has no time for anybody but himself and silence. When Bertram Pincus has a near miss on the operating table dying for a mere few minutes on his awakening he begins to see the dead, and their not prepaired to leave him alone. One ghost Frank Herlihy, played by Greg Kinnear manages to appeal to Pincus' soft side. The film does then become a little over familiar and obvious with Pincus falling in love with Herlihy's widow Gwen, But it cannot be argued the film is a light hearted fun film to watch with all the family. The film did start off rather slow and i had found myself bored at a few moments but I must state that every person I have spoken to about this film had different feelings about it. So I would recommend people to rent the movie and see how they feel about it, its light hearted and enjoyable however I wouldn't buy the film or watch it again, but I think it would go down well with younger teenagers of both sexes. Summary: more for a younger audience |
