Ghostbusters is a comedy/action/sci fi movie about a group of paranormal investigators starting their Ghostbusting business. The movie is hilarious, action packed and very very fun.

*Story*
Three psychology doctors - Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz (brilliantly played by Murray, Akroyd and Ramis) lose their university funding and with no options left, and based on their recent research throw themselvess into a ghost catching business. This happens to conincide with a huge ghost surge in New York and the Ghostbusters have their hands full with ghosts, as well as Walter Peck (Atherton), from the environmental protection agency who is tryign to shut them down. The Ghostbusters recruit Winstone Zeddmore (Hudson) and the team is complete. A powerful demon called Zool soon arrives on the scene trying to destroy the world and the Ghostbusters must stop this from hapening. The story is brilliantly written by Ramis and Akroyd and the acting is natural and believable. In fact, the greatest compliment is that you actually believe the story could be real.

*Comedy/action*
The script is very very funny and the characters work really well togeher. Venkman is obvious, Egon is just plain weird and Ray is delightfully clueless at times. Zeddmore tries to groud the group and realises he is the only one who is sane. Dana Barrett (weaver) is the female interest for Venkman and turns him down again and again. The funniest part of the film is the final battle with Zool which provides one of the most iconic pieces of film history. As well as a comedy, this is an action film with plenty of prootoon-pack blasting of ghosts in the second half (though even this is funny as its 4 guys in boiler suits with partical accellerators strapped to their backs!).

*Soundtrack*
The films soundtrack is superb with a number of great songs, from the iconic theme tune to the uplifting "saving the day" and the hectic "cleanin up the town" which sums up the ghostbusters perfectly.

*Still good today*
I still watch the movie every so often and its as great as ever. The movie doesn't age and will keep you entertained for ever.

*VERDICT*
My favourite movie of all time. Action and sci-fi blasting ghosts as well as some of the funniest moments ever seen in movies. A definate must own for movie lovers.
