Advantages: Sean Connery's best moments as James Bond is in Goldfinger....

Disadvantages: The special effects hasn't aged well.

A linear affair punctuated with perhaps the most fondly remembered (and almost certainly best) exchange between Bond and a villain, where Bond is ‘manacled’ to a table where Auric Goldfinger is dead-set on killing him by slicing Bond with a precison laser. Bond asks Goldfinger his motives for doing such a thing....:

BOND: ‘Do you expect me to talk?’
GOLDFINGER: ‘ No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!’,

Add the silent Oddjob, the alluringly ambigious Pussy Galore, the best Bond theme song ever and a hoary old story about ransoming Goldfinger's gold at an extortionate price by setting Fort Knox’s gold reserves radioactive (making it unusable) and you’ve got essentially, the ‘ultimate’ Bond film.
