Advantages: A deep, thought-provoking, twist turning film

Disadvantages: none

Directed by Ben Affleck and starring his brother Casey - again proving his skills as an actor - this is a thought-provoking, twisting and turning plot about the kidnapping of a child and the circumstances surrounding it.

Casey and his gorlfriend, Monaghan, are hired to find this child and that all seems very straightforward, but believe me this isn't a straightforward film. Get past the first 20 minutes and you'll be hooked.

This film has been described very well already, so I'll just say that if you like a film with good twists and a thought-provoking moral dilemma, then this is the one for you.

The cast are fantastic, from Casey Affleck, to Monaghan, to Harris to Morgan Freeman - playing against type this time. Do give this film a chance.

I'm still thinking about it weeks after seeing it, because the ending leaves you with so much to think about that you won't be able to stop once the film's over.

Summary: The kidnapping of a child and the reasons why will get you thinking

I liked Dennis Lehane's book. Didn't manage to catch this in the cinema, with the delayed release and everything. Curious to see what Scorsese does with Shutter Island.
