Advantages: Shows you how poor car alarm systems are in the US :)
Disadvantages: None given.
Why does the English accent sound so Englishy when in an Americans film? If some of you are hoping to see whether Vinnie Jones can act or not well...this isn't going to help you out. He hardly says a word until the end. I don't think the ladies will particulary like this film. Anyway, abit about the film. Starring: Nicolas Cage, Giovanni Ribisi, Angelina Jolie, James Duval, Robert Duvall. Directer: Jerry Bruckheimer. Gone in Sixty Seconds is about automobile aficionado Randall "Memphis" Raines, a car thief of legendary proportion. No fancy locks or alarms could stop him, one minute your car is there and the next it's gone - a la Gone in 60 Seconds. Memphis has never been caught and gives up his crime life so his brother doesn't follow him. He wants to give him a beter impression. Now, when his kid brother tries to follow in his footsteps, only to become dangerously involved in some heavy stakes, Memphis(Cage) is sucked back into his old ways-in order to save his brother's life. I guess his brother couldn't go in 60 seconds. He has to steal 50 cars in 1 night...50 very nice cars. You'll either love this movie or you'll hate it. You can't even call this movie an full action film simply because it doesn't have much action in. Honest, it's doesn't have the Gladiator, M:I2 or Shanghai Noon type action. Cage does well in the role he's given although the plot seems abit obvious. I personally think his best acting has been in Face/Off considering the position he was in during the film. Have you come a car chase without the car being damaged...this film has it...and it does have a few car chases but they're not as good as Ronin car chases. But the car chases leave mroe destruction behind which is pretty good. I personally don't like car chases. Still, it's worth a watch but only once.

- 13/10/00 I agree that Cage's best film is Face/Off, but what do you mean by 'the position he was in during the film?' |
