Advantages: Full of simply to die for cars. Great car chase scenes too.

Disadvantages: They let Vinnie Jones speak:(

I totally loved this film! It was one of the best films I have seen this year and I even quite liked Nicholas Cage in it!
'Gone in 60 Seconds' is a remake of an old cult classic brought up to date with the fabulous additions of stunning ferraris and a whole host of gorgeous cars including 'Eleanor' the beautiful Shelby ford mustang, a real stunner:)

The car chases in this film were truly spectacular, benefitting from all the latest special effects technology. Starring Nicholas Cage, Angelina Jolie, James Duvall, Robert Duvall and who could forget Vinnie Jones ( thankfully with a largely mute part ) this film is definately worth seeing whether you love beautiful fast cars or not. Jolie plays a wonderfully sexy car thief who specialises in Ferarri boosts. Cage was surprisingly good ( I am not a fan ) as Memphis, a retired car thief who left town and all his life behind to try and stop his younger brother from becoming involved in a life that was almost guaranteed to lead you either six feet under or behind bars. It failed and 6 years later he is back in Long Island rescuing his brother from a death pact having messed up a major boost. In order to save his brother Cage finds himself with a shopping list of 50 cars and a deadline of 72 hours.

Big action, big stars and in my opinion a storyline that does more than enough to keep you interested.

yeah ok) but don't the gorgeous cars and the overall slickness of this film make up for it? <grin>

I think your review is pretty good but surely we have come to expect a bit more from Bruckheimer (ignoring Con Air maybe). The charcaters were not as convincing as they should have been although I must admit he film oozes style.
