On your marks...get set.....gone (Gone in Sixty Seconds (DVD))
Member Name: TigerTiger
Advantages: Great action flick in typical Nick Cage Style, lots of fast cars, Vinnie Jones One line! Disadvantages: Slightly cheesy ending!
Gone in 60 seconds is a remake of the 1974 classic by Toby Halicki, this time round being directed by Jerry Bruckheimer of Armageddon, the Rock, Beverley Hills Cop and Top Gun fame ( a bit of a Hollywood mogul then!). It basically tells that however safe you think your car is it will never be completely safe as it could be here one minute and then gone in sixty seconds. Two brother Randall (Nicholas Cage) and Kip (Giovanni Ribuisi – The Virgin Suicides, Saving Private Ryan) Raines, one after years of being the best car thief around is finally going straight and the other younger brother kip rapidly falling into a life as a car thief with dangerous consequences. Randall finds that he has to get back into the game and steal 50 cars in a night with a little help with some old friends Sara “Sway” Wayland (Angelina Joile – Girl Interrupted, The Bone Collector), Otto (Robert Duvall and The Sphinx (Vinnie Jones of course). This film has a truly great cast and there have been many reports about Vinnie Jones Performance as the man of few words, but have to say that he plays the part of the tough guy very well and when he finally speaks at the end, well it quite frankly steals the show. There is also a lot of good British talent in this film, apart from Vinnie there is Jolie and Christopher Eccleston as the truly bad guy. Summary: |
