Just 60 More Seconds? Please?!! (Gone in Sixty Seconds (DVD))

Advantages: Too many to pick just one!! Disadvantages: I might be biased because of my love for Nick Cage!
Hatred really doesn't even begin to cover what I feel for 'action' movies. So why on earth did I go to see this one? Well, it was either that, or the Road to Eldorado!! You see my point? Well, to say I was swayed by this movie is understating the case a little!! From the moment the film started rolling, I thought - "This is gonna be different". I wasn't disappointed, I can tell you. The plot to it is so simple, and yet at times, so moving. Who would have thought that you could feel sympathy for a bunch of car thieves, and distaste towards the should-be good guys??!! It's a total change around from normal good-guy/bad-guy films, which is a nice twist and seems to make it a fresh viewing! One of the best things that I found about this film was that although there was action-a-plenty it strangely wasn't accompanied by all the usual blood and gore filled death scenes. In fact, the only death was to the ultimate bad guy, and even then, there was a twist of irony to it which really helps to set Gone in 60 Seconds apart from all the others! The fast car chases really seem to involve you, and as the cars zig zag across the road, you find yourself moving with them! (Or maybe that was only me...!) What with Nicholas Cage and Angelina Jolie there's appeal for both the guys and the gals (boy is there!!) I have seen this film twice now, out of choice, and I sure as hell am not bored of it yet! Just see it, give it a chance. The action film with a difference might just steal your heart too... Summary: |
