Green wing is a slightly strange comedy set in a very badly run hospital. It is set around the new arrival to the hospital staff in the form of a very clumsy and somewhat eccentric Dr.Caroline Todd played by Tamsin Greig. When Dr.Todd arrives for her first day at East Hampton hospital and meets all her new work colleagues you realise she is going to fit in well as they are all odd balls in there own right. With Dr. Guy Secretan (Stephen Mangan) who is an anesthetist and fancies himself as a ladies man and believes he is quite irresistible and Dr. Macartney (Julian Rhind-Tutt) who comes across as very abrupt and quite sarcastic. Then there's Martin Dear who is under confident and child like in approach whilst trying to become a doctor and failing at every turn. Over seeing all the hospital staff is the very mental Sue White who gets stranger and stranger as time goes on and has all the makings of a psychopath. Then there is my favorite character and in my opinion the funniest Dr Alan Statham who is a stuttering radiologist who is quite perverse and madly in love with Joanna Claw the foul mouthed head of human resources, who as had an hard life and smokes like a chimney and has defiantly been around the block a few times. It is a very funny take on the day to day running of an NHS hospital and although all the characters seem far fetched most of them strongly remind me of people I have met. I would strongly recommend this to all.
