Advantages: Snow White Scenes
Disadvantages: Disnyesque setting
The film centres around a cheesey American family with an unsuccesful inventor "Dad" bringing home the cutest little animal mogwai as a christmas present for his son, Billy. They live in a perfect small and sleepy American Town, and the scene is set for a lovely snow filled christmas. All the rules surrounding the mogwai ( nicknamed Gizmo) are broken, and before they know it the town is taken over by hundreds of evil gremlins. The funniest part of the film ,I thought, had to be the cinema scenes with a whole audience of gremlins watching Snow White, "and Loving it" - they sing the hi ho song, throw popcorn at each other, and cause riot. The Bar scenes were also hilarious, and the stair lift rigging scene, was great. Everything gets sorted out in the end, as usually happens, and culminates in a last battle taking place in the department store. This film is a fifteen, and was the first fifteen rated film I saw in the cinema, and it became my favourite film for a couple of years, looking back I realise that there was little storyline, but there was great effects and is worth seeing for the Snow White sequences alone.
