I watched this film tonight. I was expecting a comedy farce and was very suprised, very pleasantly suprised. It is listed as comedy, but is more comedy drama. It is bitter sweet. The basic plot is a typical english allotment in Liverpool where some of the plots are given away to asylum seekers and troubled refugees, particularly a deeply depressed Chinese man Kung Sang and his two children. At first everyone is up in arms, but gradually they warm to the newcomers and find comon ground. The subplot of the placement of a mobile phone mast on one of the allotments also helps to draw them together. It started well with the typical grumpy old men ... Read the complete review
