Advantages: Will be funny for every person, good mix of actors

Disadvantages: Not child friendly

When it comes to comedy- you name it, I have seen it. Who doesn't need a good laugh every now and again?? And Adam Sandler is a comic genius!! I love him!! (Although, don't let my partner hear that, he may have some choice words). I have yet to come across an Adam Sandler movie that hasn't been of epic proportions. That man just knows how to make a girl laugh *swoon*!!

When I heard this movie was due to be released, I was super excited. The mix of actors was just promising in itself that this was going to be gold. Adam Sandler - needs no introduction to people like myself. For those out there who haven't seen this man in action, I urge you to go buy a dvd right this minute (Big Daddy being my personal fave). Rob Schneider, or as I like to call him, 'Sandler's understudy', has never been in a film (to my knowledge, I may be corrected) without Mr Sandler himself and he just adds to the hilarity of each script. Kevin James, who is more known for his role in King of Queens. Chris Rock, who has starred in Down to Earth and lent his voice for Madagascar. David Spade who is a gem in Rules of Engagement.

These 5 comic geniuses add their own humour to this outrageously funny movie. They star as five best friends from high school, who now, in their 40's are reunited for a funeral of their former basketball coach. Cue drama, tears and laughter as the five guys and their partners, kids and pets get together to celebrate life and the fourth of July!!

Kevin James stood out for me in this movie in particular. His character, although similar to many he has played before, was a bit more serious in this film and his true actor side was revealed. He displayed many different emotions from humour, sadness and his serious facade. As a family man I believe he played the role well and one could really relate to his character who is over-weight, out of work and not getting along with his wife.

My least favourite character in this film was Marcus, played by the ever hilarious David Spade. His character was original, but very much him. I don't see much scope with this actor. He always plays single middle aged men that are a bit odd and looking for love. He's that one kid in a group that always gets picked on but I think he could have added more to his role.

The main plot of the film takes the five men and their families to an old lakehouse in order to spend some time together and re-live the old times. It is soon apparent how they have all changed and grown apart as their lives have all gone in different directions. Sandler - the famous successful one, James - the unemployed, over-weight one, Spade - the single loner, Rock, the stay at home father who loves to cook, and Schneider the pacifist who has been married three times and is now with a woman 30 years his senior. Five characters such as these was bound to cause controversy with a little bit of humour (of course) thrown in.

Many everyday situations that we all deal with are shown throughout the film and to me it showed not to take life too seriously. We all go through the bad times but when you look at them from a distance our bad times are put into perspective and can appear quite funny.

A brilliant pick me kind of movie when you are feeling bad about your life or are just in need of a good laugh. 10 out of 10

Summary: A good laugh and a must see movie that you would watch over and over
