The great comedy pairing of Lemmon and Matthau return here in the sequel to Grumpy Old Men. This is surprising perhpas when you learn that Matthau didn't like the idea behind Grumpy Old Men, though the script sucked and only did the movie because he wanted to renew his movie partnership with Jack Lemmon. They had previously made a number of movies together, but it had been over ten years since the last. Apparently he also hated the script to Grumpier Old Men as well but did it because Grumpy Old Men was so popular... Grumpier Old Men sees the pair still feuding in Minnesota.
