The story starts of a little confusing though, with the FBI breaking into this house and arresting a kid named Dade Murphy (Jonny lee miller), who was only 11 years old at the time. Then fast forward to the court, and he gets sentenced to being banned from the computer until he is 18 years old. This is because, Dade shut down over a thousand computers and touch screen phones in one day. Then, suddenly fast forwarding 7 years, Dade is now eighteen, in college and has met up with a lot of other hackers like him. Being eighteen now, he has the privilege of using computers and touch screen phones. He had also moved to New York City for a new life. But then the ... Read the complete review

There's movies that society tells you, you shouldn't watch because they're useless yet they still get cult followings, plenty of times I'll find myself watching one of these movies, that was the situation last week when I was visiting my friend Tash. Example of conversation from the night before: Tash: So what movies have you seen then? Me: Ummmmmmmmm lots why? Tash: What about Hackers? Me: Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, no Tash: You haven?t seen Hackers!?! ............... and so forth - this all ended with a Saturday afternoon sat watching Hackers on DVD with Tash giving me a running commentary on ... There's a fine line between a film taking a lighthearted look at a scenario and simply being stupid. A very fine line indeed and Hackers balances wavering from one side of it to the other but in this case it just about gets away with it. When was the last time you saw a cool or sexy computer nerd, a techno wienie with looks and style to match? Lets face it even if they are out there they're a rare bunch but this film would have us believe that half of US highschool students possess enough talent and intelligence to use their unrealistically enhanced computer skills to hack into school files, TV networks and even the FBI database! All this while ... Read the complete review

The film Hackers has got to be one of my all time favorite films. Starring Jonny Lee Miller (Dade Murphy - Alias 'Zero Cool') as a High School kid, world class Hacker and computer expert. From the age of 11 Dade has been in trouble with the law for his extra-curricular computer activities. By writing a virus that caused the crash of the U.S stock market he was banned from touching a computer until his eighteenth birthday. Upon moving to New York Dade finds a group of friends with the same interests, including Angelina Jolie (Kate Libby Alias 'Acid Burn') as Dade's enemy, love interest and Friend all rolled in to one. This brings him back in to the life he has ... Read the complete review

I first saw Hackers when it was on a movie channel but never saw the end, it was then on channel 4 but I forgot to record it. Finally I brought it off Amazon and seeing it again and all the way through reminded me how good it was. It is about Dade, who recently moved to new york. He is a hacker, who, when 11 crashed loads of computer systems like wall street and was banned from using a computer or touch tone phone for until he is 18. He didn't seem to listen and as soon as he arrives hacks into a tv network. Using the alias Crash Override. While hacking he is stopped by Acid Burn. An unknown hacker. The next day at school he meets Kate (unbeknown to ... Read the complete review
