Hancock is basically a story about the life of a not your average superhero.
The drunken superhero is played excellently by the very talented Will Smith who does not care about anything. One day he saves the life of a publicist called Ray (Jason Bateman), Ray thinks he can transform Hancock into a respectable, alcohol-free superhero that the public will not love to hate.
Rays wife (Charlize Theron) seems to not be very fond of Hancock yet he feels a special connection. Hancock is supposed to be immortal but when he saves a shopkeeper from a robbery he gets shot and in hospital he finds out that Ray's wife is really his wife from hundreds of years ago.
They are the last of their kind and were created in pairs. When they come together, they start to become mortal again so they can live their life ashumans and love. But she tells him that cannot happen else there will be no one to save the world. The hospital is attacked and it is really heart wrenching when he forces himself to go so that she can survive. But its all for a greater good.
A real must watch film.
