This is a great World war 2 epic movie starring Harrison Ford (David Halloran) Lesley Anne Down (Margaret Sellinger) and Christopher Plummer (Paul Sellinger)
David Halloran is the dashing American pilot posted to England during world war 2 and during an air raid meets pretty nurse Margaret she is married with a small daughter Sarah(Patsy Kensit), they realise they have an instant attraction and soon begin an affair.
Margarets husband Paul is an ex teacher who now works for the British intelligenge agency a fluent speaker of German he is planning a mission to gain information on double agents that are operating in the U.K.
To find this information he must gain access to the German headquarters in Lyon posing as an SS officer.
Halloran is the pilot that finds himself with the mission to drop the agent over France but when the plane is shot down and they are the only survivors they realise they must work together to complete the mission.
Halloran soon realises that he is working with his lovers husband and knows he cannot leave him in France alone.
They meet up with the French resistence and set about completing the mission.
Great scenes apparently the ariel scenes were shot in Bovingdon and the B52s were flown fron America especially for the shooting of the movie.
A great slushy War romance/Thriller, if you liked Yanks the movie you will love this.
A real tear jerker ending too.
The running time is 104 minutes and the movie is available to buy from Amazon U.K for £4.88 with free delivery.
The film is a great reminder to us all of the sacrifices that were made in order to give us the freedom that we all enjoy, the enemy was clear in that war.
The sacrifices still go on but we can all ask ourselves who is the enemy we fight today, there are no clear boundries in the war we fight now.
War without end OUR MEN.
Summary: Great movie
