This mockumentary follows the Beatles as they perpare for a tv show. The film opens in the midst of Beatlemania. The Beatles are chased down the street by hoards of fans. The manage to escape and catch their train. Here we are introduced to Paul's grandfather (Wilfrid Brambell) who is 'very clean'. We are also introduced to their two manages Shake (John Junkin) and Norm (Norman Rossington). They also try to hook up with some school girls. Paul informs everyone to be careful of his grandfather because he is a 'king mixer'. On the train he manages to turn Norm and Shake against each other and get engaged. The first Beatles film and many argue the best. From 1964, 'A Hard Days Night' follows a supposedly typical day in the life of the Beatles, as they make their way to playing a concert. Set in and around London, the extent of Beatlemania is made very clear from the beginning, with screaming girls chasing the lads through a station. Having finally boarded the train several comedy moments ensue with Paul's grandad (Wilfred Brambell from Steptoe and Son) causing trouble and several humorous conversations at the expense of other passengers.
