Advantages: Great jokes and some interesting characters
Disadvantages: Not necessarily laughs all the way through
This was the first film I watched out of the two made and I was on the floor with my sides splitting (maybe not that bad, but you get what I mean).
A brief plot... It basically follows two friends, Harold Lee (John Cho) and Kumar Patel (Kal Penn), who are on their way to Amsterdam to smoke 'pot' and to see Harold's girlfriend, Maria (Paula Garcés). En route to Amsterdam Kumar smuggles cannabis onto the plane and proceeds to try and get high but they are mistaken for terrorists and sent to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba and are on the run from the government.
This has to be one of my favourite comedies to date and it has me laughing all the way through. I love the stereotypical American FBI agent and just love some of the really hilarious moments of the film like when they land in George W. Bush's house and they get high together.
There are some really good jokes in this film and some great slapstick humour. The addition of some really hilarious actors such as Neil Patrick Harris, who plays himself, and the addition of George W. Bush (James Adomian) make this film an entertaining watch.
Is it worth getting on Bluray? In this case no. There aren't any high speed chases or big amounts of action and the lack of high-altitude and brilliant scenery don't make it worth the purchase in high definition.
Overall a really good film that follows on nicely with the first.
Summary: Great film overall
