Having read each book in the Harry Potter saga i had to check out this movie. The action and acting was great but it seemed to lack the detail of the book. Although the great DVD extras made up for this by providing hours of extra material

Well what is Harry Potter? Harry Potter is the story of a boy who for many years of his life has live with his aunt and uncle under the pretence that his mother and father died in a car crash. However on his eleventh birthday he is visited by a half-giant telling him hes a wizard. Well as you expect he thinks its a joke then he is dragged to a magical street where he buys and wand and other supplies before being shipped of to Hogwarts. A school for witches and wizards. Dont want to give to much away youll have to go see the movie/ read the book.
I think the cast chosen for the movie are great as actors however they arent how i invisioned them in my mind, the problem with book to movie conversions. Although this must have been how the author created them so i suppose shes right. On top of this i found i had been pronouncing Professor McGonagal (cant remember how its spelt) completely wrong.

As mentioned before the special effects in this film are simply magnificent although again not how i invisioned the castle in my mind. However this time i think the film is better than how i invisioned it with its swooping staircases and huge entrance hall.

My final word on the film would be, yes its great as a film. But as with all the Harry Potter and Lord of The Rings films there is huge chunks of the book missing from the film. Although i suppose you wouldnt want to be sat through a 5 to 10 hour movie.
