Advantages: Acting, special effects, excellent story telling. SUPER POWERS!!

Disadvantages: Only half of the season... (Another is I don't have any powers that I am aware of...)

Last month I finished watching the first season, part one and two of Heroes. Yes I am aware that I behind with the times as the show is up to season 4 now. But boy was it worth the wait.

Just to sum it up, it recently kept me sat, glued to my stationary bike for the majority of last week. Hooked I was and I will tell you why.

As you can probably the guess from the title the series is about people with powers. Based in the US it is set in many different locations ranging from New York City to Las Vegas. Expect to see some seriously cool abilities and special effects throughout. Abilities you wouldn't have thought existed do and they all play a part in this intelligent story that unfolds in front of you.

Abilities you would expect include time travel, being able to stop time. Regeneration, seeing the future, turning objects to gold, invisibility, flying, mind reading, walking through walls, and many many more.

The things that I liked most about season 1 or part 1 is that you are introduced to people from all walks of life. They are unaware of their powers at first, they don't know how they have or how they obtained them. You'll also find that the characters are all somehow linked which brings about this 'wow' factor. If you have seen 'Lost' you'll know what I mean.

There is a main story that has people thinking the world needs saving - "Save the cheerleader, save the world". There are also many sub stories (from mob bosses to politics) running concurrently and this is what ties in the other characters. Everybody plays a key role. Just when you think you know what is going on, you'll be surprised with something new.

A few of my favourite characters have to include Peter Petrelli, Niki Sanders and Hiro Nakamura. As with the other characters you really do believe the actors are who they play. Because of their talent you are really drawn into this fantastic and original story.

The series doesn't only include people with 'super powers', it has ordinary people too which are trying to find out why this is all happening. Ranging from a doctor who specializes in genetics, to people working for the F.B.I.

Prepare to be blown away. Can you spot the true heroes, or are they villains? Watch it and find out.

Summary: Individual powers, and special abilities, prepare to be blown away on the small screen.

My favourite character is Noah Bennett. Season 4 and I'm still not 100% sure of whether he's a good guy or a bad guy. Love Heroes.
