Advantages: Great. Especially the soundtrack

Disadvantages: Verging on schmaltzy at times.

The basic plot is that a girl (Laura) breaks up with her boyfriend(Rob - played by John Cusack) and he begins to wonder what is wrong with himself, so goes in search of his past girlfriends to ask them why they broke up with him. The girlfriends include Catherine Zeta Jones, who actually seemed to have made a decent decision regarding her career, for once, in deciding to do this film because she's not as bad as people make her out to be. In fact she's good, although her part is small. Anyway. I think that this film is really good if you need a lift, so long as you've not just split away from somebody and then you feel shit (personal experience!)
The reason i'm so fond of this film is that all of the characters are people i know ( sort of, you'll understand in a minute).
Drift by any independent music shop and take a look at the guys behind the counter, familiar eh?
Go to a gig, get chatting to some hairy bloke and accidentally mention that you like a certain band, watch the colour drain from his face as he recovers from shock and then, with a frightening knowledge of every song ever sung, rips your musical tastes to shreds.
But you just can't stay angry with these guys. I was instantly compelled to love these characters. And it's not only the music shop guys. I've seen Rob's girlfriend Laura on the bus on the way to college. I've heard her new boyfriend preaching about the health benefits of spirulina and tofu in the local health food shop.
This film is real life.
I thought that the soundtrack was brilliant(can't actually think of any of the songs right now!)but i think there was some Clash, Beta Band, random songs that i don't know the names of but are great, 'I'm Walkin' on Sunshine!', Woah, woah!!
I'm going to buy it anyway, so i'll update it when i know what the actual songs are and maybe that will actually be helpful to you!
