Advantages: good question!

Disadvantages: poor film, poor script, poor dvd

With the big name of John Cusack, starring in this critically acclaimed comedy about Rob Gordon, a record shop owner who doesn't seem to be able to hold a single healthy relationship with a woman. While some say the performance of John Cusack was superb, I tend to disagree and at times looked out of his depth as Rob, although I have never been a big fan of his, so I may be bias. Rob is terribly afraid of commitment, usually finding fault everywhere but in himself.
While highly original, this comedy just didn't have enough of whets needed in a good comedy ---> laughter, and for me left me feeling disappointed.

DVD wise, its looks and sounds nothing spectacular, although the film is hardly kind on the eye for a start,. So for this it cannot be faulted. Extras wise, we have the following:

* Deleted Scenes.
* Interview with Stephen Frears.
* Interview with John Cusack.
* Theatrical Trailer.

Hardly the greatest selection, but more then this damn awful film deserved. The poor/average DVD is better then this terrible film that is such a waste...How anyone can enjoy this pathetic excuse for a film is beyond me.....Give this one a miss!

I loved the book, and didn't like the film as much. But I think you're being a little over-harsh on it. It wasn't THAT bad!
