The best movie in the High School Musical franchise !! (High School Musical 3 (DVD))

Advantages: Great music and script.

Disadvantages: The end of the road for many of the main HSM characters.

Out of the three High School Musical films, this oneis my favourite !! Whilst the music from the first film is probably the best of the franchise, the script and over-all production ofthe third installment is probably the best.

We witness Troy and Gabriella's struggles to stay together when their futures lie in opposite directions, Troy's struggle to break free from his father's hopes and plans for his future, Zeke's hope of just getting through graduation, Chad's hope in joining Troy in fulfilling his sports academy dreams, Taylor's hope to work towards a science degree, whilst Sharpay, Ryan and Kelsi compete for a scholarship to a prestigeous acting/musical theatre university.

As always, things don't go to plan and dreams and aspirations change as we go along and for once Sharpay doesn't play the 'baddie' for once as that 'honour' goes to a new character by the name of Tiara Gold, a British student hoping to follow in the footsteps of Sharpay herself and take over where Sharpay leaves off after graduation. However, even the plans of the back-stabbing and disloyal Tiara don't go to plan and Sharpay proves how she still rules East High.

The length of the film is on par with the first and second movie and was great to watch on the big screens for the first time !! Zac Efron lovers may be disappointed by an edit of a shower scene of the very lovely Zac, although perhaps it would have come with a health warning and the bosses decided against it as a result ? LOL. All in all, great music and a fab story line which made it sad to say goodbye to many of the characters as they move on with their lives away from East High. Not sure what the future has to hold for the High School Musical franchise without the likes of Troy and Gabriella but I enjoyed the first three movies and can only wish the franchise good luck for the future.

Summary: A great end to following the high school lives of the gang, who knows what HSM4 will bring ?
