Highlander: Endgame played on TV tonight. I'd not watched it since its theatrical release. Remembered it wasn't great, but I was wrong. It is infact an utter crapfest. As a Highlander fan I really wanted to like this film. I watched about half the episodes of the TV series. I'd also watched the three motion pictures. Let me rephrase that... I watched Part 2 and 3 get progressively worse anyway. I thought maybe this last installment would redeem the franchise. The main movie character joined with the main TV series character. What could go wrong? Uh, everything. I wouldn't be lying to say I wanted to cut my own head off while watching ... Read the complete review

The Highlander franchise name is sullied once more with another non-canon film, screwing with already established ideas and rules. Duncan McCloud? A clan ends up with more than 1 immortal. This is truly unlikely when you refer back to the 1st Highlander film where the various immortals came from for The Gathering. Then Kell? Who comes from the same village as Conner McCloud? 3 immortals in 1 village? How likely are the odds of that then? So we see Racheal from Highlander get killed in a trap by Kell designed to kill Conner. Conner willing gives his life to allow Duncan to face Kell. The "No Fighting On Hallowed Ground" rule is blatantly ... Read the complete review

I have seen the first two Highlander films, but avoided the third after a disappointing show in the second film, in my view. The Highlander TV series featured Duncan MacLeod, a relative of Christopher Lambert's character Connor in the Highlander films. When I saw an advert for Highlander: Endgame, featuring Connor and Duncan and promising to put the series to rest once and for all with a great tale of two of the clan MacLeod fighting for the Prize, I was intrigued, and against my better wishes, had to watch it. The film is rather more fantastical than the two I saw. My disappointment with Highlander 2 was the transformation from an intriguing fantasy film to a ... Read the complete review

Connor MacLeod was born in the highlands of Scotland in 1518. After being killed during a clan war with the Clan Fraser, at the hands of a mysterious stranger, he miraculously comes back to life and is kicked out of his clan under the belief that he is possessed by the devil. Duncan MacLeod is also a member of Clan MacLeod, but was born in 1592. Duncan goes through a very similar (in fact, nearly identical) ordeal as Connor, during another clan war with Clan Campbell. Both men are in fact immortals, a race that has been on Earth throughout the ages and both men are known as The Highlander. Most Immortals spend their long-lived lives within ‘The ... The end yet again!, another film great, followed by a number of not so great sequels. For the people in the UK, you may not know about this one because Highlander- Endgame wasn?t released at the cinema's here, a straight to video job, usually this type of occurrence means only one thing: a load of rubbish, so is this worth the XXX words op', we shall see.... ~~Highlander~~ The first film came out sometime in 1985, and as far as I know was a great hit, well I certainly loved it. Apart from being fairly original, it had all the classic great ingredients, great action, good plot, sword fighting (there's something about sword fighting, take Star ...
