... gusto that it gets away with it; it simultaneously sneers at and celebrates the kind of hokey horror film that was starting to die out in this country. It's directed with a certain verve that you don't often see in something of this type. The film is visually interesting - even humdrum scenes are put together with a sense of style that rather sets this apart. A review of just the film. A region 1 DVD can be bought for about £6 from amazon. This is an entertaining British horror film from 1973. The director, Anthony Balch, had previously made (unwatchable) short films with William S Burroughs, and directed the weird soft-core anthology film Secrets of Sex. This is his last film, and his best. Shaggy-haired Jason has a falling out with the rest of his rock band, and decides to get away from it all. An advert for 'hairy holidays', aimed at hippies, takes him to a mysterious health spa, where he hooks up with pretty young Judy.
