Advantages: Funny for kids and adults

Disadvantages: Not enough extra features on blu ray

Another film that I thought would be pretty much rubbish. How wrong I was. I watched this on Blu-Ray, and I do think this makes a huge difference to a movie- expecially an animated one.

The story is just so endearing- not at all what I expected it to be, and with some huge names as well. I love Jim Carrey and Steve Carell, and their voices seemed to suit their characters perfectly.

The detail in the blu-ray version is stunning and is apparent from the very first still- it shows water on a leaf and looks TOTALLY REAL! I was a bit amazed by this. There is a great variety of animation types; CG, anime and Dr Zeuss style original stuff. The anime part of the film just made us all wet ourselves- it is so funny, so well done and appealing to all ages.

Overall, this really is a brilliant family film. Full of emotion, fun, great 'acting' and wonderful characters.
