Advantages: Funny, well acted, well written, Tim Dalton is superb

Disadvantages: None

The second film in the 'Blood and Ice Cream' Trilogy, once again directed by Edgar Wright, following the success of 'Shaun of the Dead' this reunites Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as a big time cop moved to a small village and his small town partner. Basically its a remake of classics such as Bad Boys set in a sleepy colloquial village.

The cast of this film is superb with Steve Coogan, Timothy Dalton, Bill Bailey, Bill Nighy, Martin Freeman and many others.

So the main story is of Simon Peggs incredibly successful cop being moved to a village after an emotional break up with his girlfriend. At first he feels he shouldn't be there and that nothing happens, but as a serial killer begins murdering many of the most prominent villagers he has a job to solve with his fat lazy partner.

This film has charm, a wicked soundtrack, so many knowing references and is funny as hell, it really is a treat and the Shaun of the Dead team triumph again with this one, the village is a mish mash of loads of films, the characters even reference bad boys to trashily show what they are copying and the acting is brilliant, Pegg and Frost are brilliant as always but for me Timothy Dalton free of the reins of his Bond time is reborn as a sneaky British Supermarket Manager, he is funny knowing and references so many British Cads down the years its hilarious.

Action scenes are surprisingly good, the direction is well paced and knows how to get the best from the stars, this is a great british film.
