The Incredible Hulk is a creation of Marvel writers Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Bruce Banner's alterego has been turned into film before, starring bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk, but in a time where special effects were limited. So, the 2003 blockbuster film was set with high hopes. The Plot Bruce Banner is a scientist working for the government. His calm exterior hides a violent past, which we learn at the beginning of the film, for Banner's father was also a scientist. His experiments ended up exposing himself to radiation, with horrendous results: his son Bruce transforms into a large, green monster at the slightest hint of emotional turmoil, ... Ah i remember this film. It was sadly dissapointing. I used to like the hulk, even if he was a tad annoying. This film sadly did not do anything for me though. It was one of the first Marvel films so i guess that could be taken into consideration. They don't really come out with the best films, but as this was an early one they will have to be forgiven. I found that the use of changing scenes using a comic book style graphics didnt really help, and there are better ways to get the comic book feel (see Sin City). I also found that for most of the film i was waiting for something to happen. It never did. Its not totally bad though. ... Read the complete review

Dr Bruce Banner is on the verge of an incredible scientific breakthrough. Employing revolutionary new “Nanomed” technology, and with the help of his friend and colleague Betty Ross, he has pioneered research into an amazing system of artificial healing and improved strength. Their experiments have taken them closer and closer to success, but on each attempt they have encountered failure. Whilst performing routine maintenance on the research equipment one day, a short circuit causes the system to start up and in order to rescue his research assistant Bruce shields the man from a huge blast of gamma radiation by taking the brunt of the force himself. Incredibly, he ... Read the complete review

The Hulk first appeared in the 1970’s Mighty World of Marvel comic, and it was then followed, of course, by the TV series, also a staple of 70’s memorabilia, ludicrously cheap-looking (and probably cheap to make as well). It seems it’s taken an age to get to the big screen, what with other superheroes everywhere – Superman, Batman, The X Men, Spiderman… what took so long getting The Hulk to the silver screen? Whatever the answer to that question, maybe it was worth the wait – in some respects, at least. At last here’s a movie that does the story justice. Ang Lee is the director, and following his ... I'm a busy man. Balls don't kick themselves around pitches by themselves you know! As a result of my dedication to the beautiful game (I don't claim to be good - just addicted!) I have a paucity of free evenings and therefore don't get out to the cinema as much as I'd like to. Yesterday however, I was at a loose end and so decided to go to see the Hulk with my mate Caddy (who looks a little like the Hulk though not quite as green). I had read very mixed reviews - including others on Dooyoo. The film had been long awaited by Marvel afficianados, action freaks and anyone who used to watch Lou Ferrigno (who has a cameo as a security guard) ... Read the complete review
