Having previously watched the standard DVD version of 'I Am Legend', I was interested to see how the blu-ray version compared in terms of both picture quality and special features. I Am Legend. *********** I remember watching the original film 'The Omega Man', starring Charlton Heston. It was a bit poor and massively different from the book. I Am Legend is loosely based on Richard Matheson's science fiction novel which has previously spawned 2 films. In this film, Will Smith plays Robert Neville who is an American military scientist, and the sole survivor in a New York that has seen the population mutated by a deadly virus.
