Released in 2004 this film was as impressive as you would expect from Will Smith.
Set in the year 2035 in Chicago with humanoid robots walking the streets as servants to humans. We are quickly introduced to detective Del Spooner, (played by Will Smith) and soon realise that he has a total distrust for the robots, (later in the movie we find out the reason for the mistrust).
The film essentially starts with the death of a top scientist, presumably suicide, although the ever suspicious Spooner thinks otherwise.
As Spooner investigates the death he soon realises that there is more to the situation than first thought. The special effects used in the chasing and attempted killing of Spooner during the movie are excellent and close to being life like, the scenes shot in the tunnel with the bus full of robots are exceptional.
A fight sequence between Spooner and a robot shows how Del is more like the robots than first thought.
With a new type of robot about to flood the market there seems to be a nasty sting in there tails with only Spooner believing that they must be stopped.
As the films continues there is some great action and special effects, using computer imagery in a perfect art form.
The battle near the end of the movie between the sets of robots is well choreographed and great fun to watch, (if you like that sort of thing).
This is one of Will Smiths best sci-fi, action films as we see him tackling the robots and trying to save the world from robot domination.
It is worth watching, maybe two or three times just to grasp the full story and to see the entire movie as there is sometimes a lot happening in a single scene.
Summary: A possible look into the future??? maybe
