Advantages: great characters, very funny, brilliant story

Disadvantages: NOTHING

This is one of the best animated films I have ever seen apart from Toy Story films and Shrek. I have to say I preferred this to Monster's In it was excellent very witty and the characters were brilliant.

Animated films seem to be a very popular thing to do lately but after Shrek things calmed down with animated film and there has never been anything as great since but I definitely think this is just as great. It isn't Disney or anything but that doesn't mean it can't be brilliant, it was a very popular film in America.

The main point of the film is that the Ice Age is coming nearer and for a warmer climate all of the animals go south. A human tribe also need to move to a warmer village but there is a mean Sabre Toothed Tiger called Soto who is looking for revenge. The humans killed many of his tigers so he wants to get them back by stealing the baby of the tribe.

Soto makes a member of his pack called Diego steal this baby while they attack the other humans. The baby's mother spots the tiger and runs for her life and the babies, he has chased her so far that the only land left in front of her is a cliff edge and the waterfall below but she has no choice to jump. Once she does this we next see her at the edge of the river very tired still with her baby, quickly she lets the baby get to land and just as she tries to help herself she is pulled down stream and then she is obviously killed because there is no sight of her atfer.

We also see a sloth on his own later and he seems to have bee left by his friends and family as they have gone south so he wandres about trying to look for someone then he spots 2 rhinos. He annoys them so they decide to hurt Sid (ther sloth) but then a mammoth called Manfred is in his way so he hides under him but the rhinos spot him still coming closer. Manfred (Manny) saves him and then they are instantly a pair to go south but they spot the mother leaving her child and then they help
the baby reluctantly Manfred does also.

Sid thinks it's a great idea if they take the baby back to where it belongs but Manfred doesn't want to get involved and starts to walk away from Sid that is until Diego turns up and then Manfred decides to go agreeing after he has done this that Sid must leave him alone. Diego says he will go with them to give them a short cut.

Manfred does not really trust Diego but still he goes and then they go on a great adventure to look for the baby's family. Many things happen and it really is an enjoyable moving.

One brilliant character I have missed out is the squirrel who is called Skrat I think but the movie starts off with it trying to hide it's nut for hibernation time but he can't burry it for ice and when he does lots of terribly things always happen. He pops up a few times and is great.

This film is not the typical animated movie because there are many serious things that a child may not get like a joke made about Manny and Sid suggesting they are gay and when the mother died is quite a shame.

The voices made the characters and they were brlliantly done

The drawings of the characters were excellent also I thought Sid's face was really funny and his stupid voice made him great. This is quite a short film which I wished was longer but then I think it was just a perfect time and it all fit together perfectly.
