Advantages: Really interesting, ,reminded me of Hitchcock for few minutes

Disadvantages: The identity was obvious before the revelation

Do you like thrillers?Do you want to spend some time watching an interesting thriller? Identity is the kind of film that the lovers of clever thrillers will enjoy.

The cast and theme of the film:

10 people that they don?t know each other are ending up in a hotel- among them is Ed (John Cusack), an ex-policeman and now driver of the actress Karolin Suzan (Rebecca De Mornay), a prostitute named Parris(Amanda Pitt), a policeman (Ray Liotta) that gives you the impression that is hiding something all the time, the newly married couple ( (but I can?t remember their names!)and the owner of the hotel, Larry (John Hawks).

The director is James Mangold (Have you seen "Heavy" or "Τhe girl I left behind"?) and the scenario belongs to Michael Couney , who was inspired by Agatha Christie?s novel "Ten small Indians"

The film

One night under great thunderstorm , ten travellers without know each other, find refuge to an isolate hotel in the middle of the dessert. But when one by one start being murdered in a mysterious way which is based on the numbers of the rooms (countdown) they realise that behind these murders a strange power is hiding (how clever hey?) that is impossible to control. The truth though is covered under that true Identity( that?s the title of the film) of the murderer and theirs?(sounds fascinating?)It was fascinating at the beginning!

Scenes that I like

The first twenty minutes of the film a narrator explains under different angles how the ten people end up at the hotel. Especially the strange story of Ed and of Parris that leads to a bad accident was really fascinating.

What I like in the film

Nice directorship that reminded me of Hitchcock (seriously very good) as at the beginning of the film whatever you were thinking that was going to happen was turned into something else.
Excellent sound.
Nice use of flash back, pa
rallel narration and supposedly prognosis.
What I really enjoyed was the fact that even though everything was happening in that small hotel, the different angles of the hotel and the way that the hotel was transformed in a big deadly trap, didn?t let me think how boring, monotone is the scenery.

What I didn?t like

Some old cliché of horror movies that appear half way of the film and the bad- in my opinion- revelation of the truth. I wasn?t socked!!It was obvious!(of course I am not telling you what happened.Go and see it!)

Who to take with you

Anybody, only inform him/her in advance for the rivers of blood that you are going to ?enjoy!?!

Deserve the £4.50;

I have to say yes if you are fan of thrillers!
If you are not that much in to that kind of films, you can wait until it comes out on video. You don?t loose anything! But I have to mention that it is one of the most interesting thrillers ? if there is something like that after Hitchcock- that I have seen lately.

Unanswered Questions

I couldn?t understand what kind of mobile phone Rebecca DeMornay had! I want to have a mobile that can come through thousands of gallons of water and to have perfect signal in the middle of nowhere!!

I went to see this at the weekend, but only because I review I had heard on the radio promised a Christie stlye thriller. I was disappointed. It was watchable enough, but the twists were just so predictable.
