I only watched this film because I am a big fan of Seth Green (Mick) and I was following the film trail throughout his career to date. It has been given an 18 rating, probably because it openly and unashamedly features a LOT of pot smoking and some rather strong bad language. I am sure if it didn’t feature the pot as much, it would have received a lot lower classification, because the violence and killing is weak and some of the props used in the killing scenes are quite laughable. However I would warn potential viewers not to watch it if they would at all be offended by the pot smoking. The tagline for "Idle Hands" is 'A touching story of a boy and his right hand'. Right there, you'll get the gist of what it's all about. At least you would if you dragged your mind out of the gutter. Idle Hands, funny title for a rather funny movie. I say rather because it says it's hilarious on the cover, but I didn?t burst out in laughter once in the film, rather I just giggled to myself every now and then, but enough about me and onto the film. The film is classed as a comedy horror and has an 18 certificate slapped onto it for reasons I can't really figure out, apart from one small sex scene maybe, or the gore, which you can tell is obviously fake, but pretty groovy. Idle Hands was a bit of a box office dud in the USA and only appeared on a handful of screens over here some time after. A quick region 1 release meant that I saw the film way befoer it even set foot on UK shores and to be honest I can't see why it didn't do better as it's far more entertaininng that the likes of Urban Legends:Final Cut etc. Devon Sawa plays Anton, a real slacker who spends his days watching TV , smoking pot and drinking in his parents basement along with his two friends Mick (Seth Green) and Pnub (Eldon Henson.
