Rating:
Made in 1993, INDECENT PROPOSAL stars Robert Redford as John Gage, a wealthy businessman who offers a young couple 1 million dollars to spend one night with the wife (Demi Moore - Woody Harrelson plays the husband). Although the couple agree that the money would of course help them in their lives, it sets up a situation which threatens to destroy their relationship. I have to say that I really dislike this film. The central idea of sleeping with someone for 1 million dollars means that the woman is a prostitute and the man paying is her john, there are no 2 ways about it. The idea that this couple would even consider the offer is offensive to ... Read the complete review

Well when it comes to letting hubby pick the film I usually know what I am getting as 90% of the time it stars John Wayne but I did get a pleasant surprise when he chose this one. Now this film is not one which I was too keen on seeing, I don't know why but I didn't know anything about it so when it was on the TV he Sky + it for me. I have to say that I was very impressed and surprised by it. I must state that this is a FILM ONLY review as we watched in on TV and not DVD. Diana and David meet when they are in college and soon they become a couple. As the years go by they have got married and both are working, Diana works in real estate and David ... This movie was always going to be a titanic stiff of a drama because typically of Hollywood, the casting was nonsensical. First choice for the role ultimately played by Robert Redford was Warren Beatty, that other famously handsome and charming elder statesmen (notorious for attracting women of Demi Moore's age). The moment you make the older guy anything other than a creep, then the film loses any hope of being an even remotely serious film - imagine if the role had been played by JT Walsh, or Billy Bob Thornton (who has a two-line cameo in the casino), someone who doesn't carry around this soft romantic mist everywhere he goes. The film bottles out to ... Read the complete review

Wow! This film really has been slated through the years. It is a 1993 romantic thriller, directed by Adrian Lyne and starring Robert Redford, Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson in a triangle of a relationship. It showcases the financial greed we have as human beings and the power money can wield, at the same time as examining the heartache this can also lead to. David and Diana Murphy are childhood sweethearts who have tied the knot and dream of having enough money to fulfill David's real estate dream and build his own dream house. After a get rich scheme fails, they meet billionaire John Gage, who offers them a milloion dollars for one night with Diana. After a ... Read the complete review

Film only review: Diana and David Murphy have the perfect loving relationship. After meeting up in college they buy a beautiful home, she works in real estate, hes a struggling artist. There happiness is being threatened though by financial issues and falling behind on the morgage payments so they make a decision. Go to Vegas gamble and try to win a fortune with the morgage money with a double or quits idea. However it doesn't quite work out that way. They don't do so good but then Diana catches the eye of already wealthy John Cage who asks Diana to stand with him whilst he plays and wins a plenty to which he buys her a very expensive dress she had ...
