... ever seen. The story was pathetic. The dialogue infantile. The effects? RUBBISH. Even the actors seemed to take it all as a big joke, as none of what they say or do can be taken seriously. Indiana Jones survives a NUCLEAR EXPLOSION, by hiding in a FRIDGE. A FRIDGE. Our heroes at one point, are assisted by some monkeys, as they hurtle through a jungle standing perfectly still on vehicles - there aren't any roads!!! Jones has been captured at one point, flown halfway around the world, and apparently tortured rep...more

Premium Review Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Blu-ray): We all wanted it to be better! (778 words)

Twenty years after the last incarnation of the Indiana Jones franchise, Harrison Ford returns as the whip-cracking hero in 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' on blu-ray - but is what should be a feast of high-definition action let down by poor writing and unbelievable set pieces? Directed by Steven Spielberg, the plot revolves around the generally nasty Soviets who are attempting to capture the mysterious 'Crystal Skull' - but that's if Indy can't get there first! Of course Indiana Jones wouldn't be what it is without Harrison Ford, and once again he returns to the limelight, recapturing Indy's charisma with relative ease. He also looked better than ...  Read the complete review

After waiting 5 days for this to be delivered by Amazon it finally landed through our letterbox today. My husband is a real fan of Indiana Jones and even put me through watching the previous 3 films before we received this one, just so we were familiar with the stories, not that I could ever forget. We are taken to 1957 where Dr Henry "Indiana" Jones (Harrison Ford) has been captured by Colonel Doctor Irina Spalko (played by Cate Blanchett) and her convoy of Soviet agents who lead Indiana to Hanger 51 where in previous films we discovered is where the Government store remains previously found by Indiana Jones over the ...  Read the complete review

Always been a big Indy fan so I made sure to pick up this Blu-Ray as soon as it was out. I disagree with a lot of reviews of the movie and think it is better than some paint it out to be. Rather than write a detailed review I thought I'd summarise my feelings about the picture, some good, some bad. - I felt unsatisfied when the movie ended as I felt that it didn't bring anything dramatically new to the Indy table. Yet, curiously I also felt I wanted more and still want to see a fifth picture. - Mutt is a far stronger character than I was expecting and I did not feel annoyed at his presense in any way. I don't feel the character is strong enough to ...  Read the complete review

Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. ===================== Some sarcastic and critical people have called this film 'Indiana Jones and The Milking of the 4th Cash Cow. The film as you might expect has a plethora of stars, Harrison Ford - Indiana Jones. Karen Allen - Marion Ravenwood. Shia LaBeouf - Mutt Willliams. John Hurt - Professor Oxley. Jim Broadbent Dean Charles Stanford. Kate Blanchett - Irina Spalko. Ray Winston - Mac George McHale. Notably not in the film is Indies dad, Sean Connery and Marcus (Denholm Mitchell Elliott) who died in 1992. A very brief synopsis of the story begins with ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Blu-ray): poor return (250 words)

Indiana jones has always been one of my favoutire movie franchises and have been some of the best action movies around. This version trys to continue that with some decent action but the overall film just doesnt come together quite well. With indiana jones you no what to expect with some great action and adventure throughout the movie, this version trys that but you get the feeling it is trying to hard and it goes way over the top at certain points in the movie. The plot involves around trying to retrieve the crystal skull and as usual get there before the bad guys. Harrison ford although getting on a bit puts in a great performance as indiana, the ...  Read the complete review
