This 1989 release is the third film in the series, starring Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, an archaeologist who goes on the occasional life risking adventure to find mystical relics from the past. The plot is quite similar to the first film. This time, the hunt is on for the holy grail, and the nazis are after it too. It all rings a bit true to the original movie, and I can't quite help but feel there were plenty of more original ideas for the film than this. However, if you liked the first film, and the idea of good vs evil (it doesn't get much more evil that nazis does it?) then this is the film for you. However, there is a new addition. Sean ... The Last Crusade, the last in the original Indiana Jones Trilogy, filmed in 1989. After the darkness and foreboding of Temple of Doom, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas introduced the world to Indy's Father and the much more light hearted Last Crusade. This film sees a return to the style of Raiders of the Lost Ark. There are brilliant moments of comedy from Indy with his daddy issues and Dr Jones snr is hilarious in his own right; constantly diminishing anything Indiana does, over reacting and generally being a little bit daft. The Plot (very briefly) ---------------------------- As most people will be aware, this is "the one with the ... Read the complete review

After the darkness and relative disappointment of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Spielberg and Lucas sought a return to form with the third and final (so we all thought) instalment. By and large, it's a hugely successful return. Crusade is lighter than Doom, has a lot more humour than Raiders, and yet still manages that perfect blend of action and fun. In fact, in the eyes of many, it's the best of the three. Once again, the story involves an inconsequential MacGuffin - the search for the Holy Grail - which is little more an excuse to once again pit Indy against his arch-enemies the Nazis in a variety of exotic locations. The plot, as ever, ... Read the complete review

1989 saw the release of the long awaited third film in the Indiana Jones trilogy: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It came 5 years after Temple of Doom, and was much anticipated for its inclusion of Sean Connery as Henry Jones, Indy's dad. The film is wonderfully made and once again combines the talents of Stephen Spielberg, George Lucas and composer JOhn Williams behind the scenes. The film starts off with a flashback to 1912, and a young Indiana Jones, played here by River Phoenix. It introduces us Henry (Sean Connery) and sets the scene for the quest for the Holy Grail. Fast forward to 1938, and Henry has gone missing. Indy goes in search of his dad, and ... Read the complete review
