The film Inkheart is based on the bestselling children's fantasy novel of the same name by Cornelia Funke. It was directed by Iain Softley, who also directed Hackers, The Skeleton Key and K-Pax. Mo Folchart (Brendan Fraser) is a book restorer with special abilities. He is a Silvertongue which means when he reads out loud from a book, the story begins to come to life, with very unpredictable consequences. Directed by Iain Softley, INKHEART is a sci fi fantasy movie released in 2008 based on the novel by Cornelia Funke. The film centres on Brendan Fraser's, star of The Mummy, character Mo who is a silvertongue meaning when he reads a story out loud the events come to life with characters entering the real world and a real person sent to the story world. Mo Folcharty has a passion for books and when he was younger. He spend his time travelling around with daughter Maggie going to book shops and searching for a specific book. Things change or Mo when a man called Dustfinger turns up as he manages to track down the book which he has been searching for the last 9 years for. We soon learn that Mo is a silvertounge which means that when he reads out loud the characters from the book come to life. Meggie is shocked to lean this about her Dad and that her mother went missing in the Inkheart book when she was little when Dustfinger came out. Inkheart (2008) ~~~What's it about?~~~ I went to see this film a little late in the day; it was on the special reduced price, parent and child offer at Vue cinemas this half term. My children had wanted to see it when it first came out, but we were too busy. So along we went with our popcorn, looking forward to this imaginative story. It runs for 106 minutes and is rated PG. The film is centred around a book called 'Inkheart', and follows the story of Mo Folchart (Brendan Fraser) and his family.
