Advantages: Entertaining film. Well presented & informative special features.

Disadvantages: Maybe one for the boys. You'll have to buy the inevitable sequels.

Yet another Marvel Character jumps of the page onto our screen. Although in this case - flies would probably be a fairer description.

Iron Man is an action film about a Super Hero who's main powers are an armoured flying suit that he wears. As most superhero films that are the first of their saga, the film demonstrates how Tony Stark becomes Iron Man. This is a problem for many comic book films & this part of the film can drag in some of them. I don't think that it does in Iron Man. It doesn't seem to take forever for our hero to appear.

The Action sequences are good. Well shot. Don't look like fake CGI but are clear enough to know & understand what is happening all the time.

The Villain is well chosen from Iron Man's back catalogue of adversaries. He is on screen for about the right sort of time & the battle between the two is by no means anticlimactic.

Would a women enjoy it? Possibly. My wife likes it & says that it is one her her more preffered Comic book adaptations. However there is only one really prominent female character & this is a comic book film. It's not supposed to be a chick flick & doesn't try to be to get the women in!

As for the Blu Ray special features, with this being my first ever Blu Ray, I did bother to watch them. Very good if you're new to the character & great for giving you the Back Story of Iron Man's history.

The Blu Ray transfer is clean & crisp throughout. Does look better than a DVD & I'm glad I bought it on Blu Ray & not DVD because that format is under threat & will be killed off by Blu Ray.

All in all the Film is entertaining & worth a watch. If you like comic book films, you will enjoy this one & the Blu Ray treatment makes it all the better.

Summary: Good Film. Action Packed. Watch it!
