Somewhat of an anomoly with Bond fans, as it saw Connery depart the series and an unknown fill the shoes as Bond. Step forward model turned actor George Lazenby. He is actually pretty good in the role and delivers a solid performance from start to finish.
This time, Bond is back on the trail of Blofeld, who appears to be disguising himself as a count in the mountains! Bond is posing as Sir Hilary Bray to infiltrate Blofeld'd hideout and uncover what he is up to.
This is also the only Bond film where he marries. Diana Rigg to be precise, turning ina wonderful show as Tracy. You know it will all end in disaster, but the scenes she and Bond share are loving and tender and some of the best of the whole series.
The sountrack has a Christmas feel to it, perhaps because of the snow and the time the film was shot and that gives it some edge.
Without Connerry, yes it feels odd, but if one watches this as a stand alone film it is actually very strong and the action scenes are fast and furious as ever. Definitely one for hardcore Bond fans to watch and will also please those who want a good non challenging action yarn
