Rather fittingly, this piece of writing is the last of my Friday the 13th reviews. Having already reviewed the other ten films, it seems apt that I should finish on the most notable of the final films. Jason was already killed off, well kind of, at the end of film 4, but made a swift comeback for the sake of box office returns. He's since made ANOTHER comeback, proving that we just cant trust those old film makers to stick to their word. Especially when teenagers flock to see the cool kills on display. *REVIEW OF FILM ONLY* When New Line Cinema bought the ailing Friday the 13th series off Paramount Pictures it clearly didn't see any need in trying to pick up any continuity from the previous films. At least Paramount made some sort of attempt to explain how Jason would return, bring back characters from former episodes and so on. New Line had an altogether more ruthless approach to the franchises in the 1990s. Well hes back again and this is one of the worst ones yet. At the start we see a blonde women walking around a house with no lights on, she strips off and goes in the shower when the power goes off, She goes to put it back on but is attacked by Jason, she runs away into the woods and Jason follows her. Suddendly lots of big spotlights appear on Jason and the swat team bursts out and showers him with bullets and grenades. He ends up exploding with only his heart remaining. His heart is taken to the coroner and starts beating again and for some reason the coroner decides to eat it and then - guess what - he becomes Jason. The movies also features a ... The "Friday The 13th" series, probably the most critically disliked films of all time. The tasteless gore, violence, and sex have caused these films to be called cinematic pieces of crap. But, in all seriousness, what Horror fan doesn't like this series? It might not be scary but it does have its fair share of gore and violence. Slasher movie fans don't look for a deep plot and character development; pruning shears through the eyes get the job done. With this, what was supposed to be "The Final Friday," "Jason Goes To Hell" was one of the better later entries into the series. It wasn't good in the art house sense but good in the ...
