On TV adverts it had been deemed the scariest movie for over so many years and yet on the way to going to see this movie all I could do was whistle the old song 'Jeepers Creepers'. I was having a big old laugh at myself for that I mean little did I know that the movie was so titled because of that song.
Well let me tell you a little about the movie, it was not scary. How's that for you, OK I lie, it had certain moments at the very beginning where it was quite scary considering you expect it to be real scary. As the movie progressed however you just cried at how poorly they used the material they had in the beginning. I don't want to give the movie away but when you see a room full of dead people and one guy is still alive with a stitched up stomach but on the verge of dying you'd expect something good. I was thinking, "Wow, yeah the dead people must have stuff put in them to make them weird zombie types". I was of course sadly mistaken it turns out the thing just eats parts of people's bodies, wow scary.
This movie was so scary that everyone watching it in the Odeon laughed through half the movie. Everyone appeared to be quite willing to be scared up until the point they seen the creature in it's full form.
As you can imagine this movie's storyline obviously wasn't fantastic. It solely relied on scaring people by using the cinema sound system and playing loud scary music at certain moments. If you were to watch this movie at home on video or TV there wouldn't be much chance that you would feel any kind of fear.
One thing this movie did have however was good actors. The two main stars of the film were good actors especially as I have never seen them before on anything.
Special effects were a little down and well for a movie that has a lot of heads coming off and such, you would expect to see a little more blood. I mean you would see a guy get his head ripped off and you would wonder if he had any b
lood in his body at all.
This movie was a great and valiant effort to be a scary movie, it had great potential at the beginning but it was almost as if the writer didn't know where to go from there. Also true classic scary movies will always entail a human like if not generally a human killer. Think of 'Halloween' or 'Evil Dead', the audience don't allow themselves to let go of their doubt anymore so they need a story that realistically could happen.

This movie really could scare some people I guess, but it all depends on the company you're with and the audience in the cinema. If you want real scares then you would have to be in a cinema with an audience that is dying to be scared by this movie. Otherwise I suggest you wait until it's on video, turn off the lights, close the curtains and turn the volume up as far as it goes.

There is one thing I have to give this movie for credit and that is the cliffhanger ending it has. The only thing is I hope that it doesn't mean there will be a sequel because if it does then the movie will lose all credit for that ending.

Ok I'm about to tell you just what the story is in this movie so if you don't want to go scroll down until there is a new paragraph.
In a nutshell the story starts off with two young American's both brother and sister on the road to home. Home just so happens to be more or less out in the middle of nowhere and the journey involves travelling through a lot of open countryside. On the way some psycho near kills them trying to get past them giving them quite a shock. Later they see psycho putting bodies down a tube where he happens to live. They're shocked but investigate anyways like you're average horror movie fool. The guy falls inside, sees dead bodies, gets out and they try phoning the police. Then basically everyone starts getting killed and the creature that does this also eats parts of the people he kills, for examp
le he ate the tongue of one of the police officers.
Later an opportunity to kill the creature arises so the two run over the creature continuously. Unfortunately it is later revealed the creature can't die that easy and so it comes back and kills more people. That is more or less the whole movie in a nutshell just in case you wanted to know. I did of course leave out certain surprising parts so that I wouldn't spoil it completely but that is it in a nutshell.

Now you could go see this movie if you really want to see for yourself just how scary it is. However if you’re after some scares then I suggest a classic like 'Halloween' as they never lose their edge. Remember of course the one thing that you need for any kind of scary movie, "Willing suspence of disbelief" (Samuel Coleridge)
