Advantages: Different from average horrors., There is a scene showing a face with its eyes missing, Has green man with wings
Disadvantages: Generally poor, Lack of suspense and fear
This 'horror' film starts off with a brother and his fit half-sister driving along a road when an utter maniac nearly barges them off the road in a stupid battered old mega-truck, which the nutter has sooped up so that it goes faster than a regular crap truck. A bit later they see said maniac throwing a heavy, black, body-shaped plastic bag (containing a body... maybe?) down a large pipe. So seeing him throw what they believe to be a dead person, who the nutter has obviously killed, when he drives off they decide to go and have a look. The idiot boy decides to lean into the pipe to see what's at the bottom and slips and falls all the way to the bottom of the pipe. In this part of the film it was ridiculously obvious what was going to happen.
The boy finds himself in some kind of church with preserved bodies stuck all over the walls and ceiling. I can't remember what happens here but I know that it involved a semi-dead person and it was quite funny, although it wasn't meant to be I don't think.
The two clasically stupid horror-movie-teenagers go around chasing this nutter to try to find out what's going on. Lots of weird stuff happens and police killing is involved, so I suppose the film has some good points, but it also has many bad points.
There is a good twist to the story where a supernatural element is added to the usual horror plot, which shows some inventiveness. The acting isn't terrible and Jonathan Breck shows some quite good acting skill as the evil thing.
The ending is not typical of an American film, it's not actually happy. It's quick sick really, but funny, especially the last scene.
I see this film as a kind of spoof, black comedy with horror elements.
Fun to watch and have a giggle but other than that this film fails to install suspense and real fear into the viewer.
