Can you believe this film came out all the way back in 1993! Jurassic Park was a huge hit at the time, took massive takings at the box office and blew many audiences away. The film managed to win 3 Oscars plus a whole host of other awards and nominations. The film spawned a huge amount of cheap spin off films and TV programs about dinosaurs and inspired many toys and books.

The film stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern with some great cameos from Jeff Goldbloom and Richard Attenborough. There are some other great performances from lesser known actors as well.

The films tells the story of John Hammond who has a vision of a theme park. But this is no ordinary theme park, this one is set on an island and the main attraction is real dinosaurs! Before the park opens he needs some help so enlists some archaeologists to come have a look. There are a few other guests who have one of the first tours of the park. As you would expect things don't quite go according to plan, and basically all Hell breaks loose as the dinosaurs break free!

This is a great film. The effects were so ahead of there time and really impressed me. Even now the film does not look fifteen years old, its still excellent. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through. One of my favourite bits is the music. There is some classic music in this that is still very recognisable all this time on.

The film runs for 127 minutes which sounds like a long time, but the film really flies by and there is always something to enjoy.

The film is rated as PG, there are a few swear words and some mild horror, but nothing to serious as this is a good family film.

The DVD itself has all the standard features, trailers and a few other bits and pieces.

Overall this is an excellent film, a real classic in my opinion. If you have never seen this, where have you been? Go and get yourself a copy as soon as possible and enjoy!

Summary: A Wonderful Film
