Advantages: A good cast

Disadvantages: Poor plot, bad script, awful attempts at comedy, a film which has nothing to make it worth watching

Just Visiting is a film from French writer-director Jean-Marie Poire with a rehash of his film Les Visiteurs.
The film sees a 12th century night named Count Thibault of Malfete (Jean Reno) who mistakenly kills his beloved Princess Rosalind (Christina Applegate). Grief takes over Thibault and he enlists the help of a wizard (played by Malcolm McDowell) to take him back in time so that the princess will not die but the potion does not work as intended and Thibault along with his servant Andre (Christian Clavier) he is thrust into the future.
Thibault and Andre now have to take on a 21st century Chicago where they meet Julia Malfete (Applegate) who is a museum curator who is the living image of Princess Rosalind and they enlist her help in order to get them back to their time but this is not to the liking of Julia's money loving fiance, Hunter (Matthew Ross). Along their way they encounter modern conveniences that make no sense to them and so are destroyed. We also see Andre fall for the pretty and free spirited gardener named Angelique (Tara Reid). Will they make it back to their own time before it is too late?

This is a film where I had high hopes thanks to being based on such a box office smash (the hugely successful Les Visiteurs) and also due to the fact that it had such a good cast but I felt hugely let down. The film lacked comedy and the plot did not feel very strong which added to a poor script led to a film that was hugely disappointing and one I would recommend people avoid as it is a waste of 88 minutes of your life.

Summary: This film is one I have to advise people to avoid as it lacks everything a good film would need
