Advantages: thought provoking, great storyline and performances

My friend recommended this film to me and considering he has a high standard for films i knew it would be really good and it was. It's incredibly clever and creative and has a very original storyline. The film keeps you guessing all the way to the end and you still don't really know what happens after the film. It's one of those films that gives you something to think about and discuss and see what everyone else thinks.

The film is based on a series of books and without trying to give much away it's about a man who thinks he's from another planet called K-Pax. He gets sent to a psychiatric hospital and as we find out more and more about him the more and more we get confused about whether or not he's telling the truth. The actors do an incredible job and Spacey really portrays Prot in an unique and convincing way.

The film is moving, imaginative and a very different from other films. It's appeal is in the fact that you never know what to believe. It's such a simple film, there are no fast paced action sequences or complex fight scenes but it reminds you of what films should be about - the story. And this has such a fascinating story to tell. I can't emphasise enough how good this film is. It runs at just the right pace and it keeps you interested up to the last moment.
